Privacy Policy — GPS Location & Digital Compass

GPS Location & Digital Compass ("the app", "we") is provided by Jenos as a free app. This Service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.

Information We Collect

Location Data The app accesses your device's GPS to display your coordinates and reverse-geocoded address, calculate compass true north, show sunrise and sunset times, determine Qibla direction, measure distances to saved places, and center offline maps on your position. Location is accessed only while the app is open on screen — the app has no background location access and no foreground service. Location data is processed on-device and is never sent to our servers.

Device Sensors The app reads your device's built-in sensors:

Magnetometer + Accelerometer — compass heading, bubble level, clinometer
Barometer (if available) — barometric altitude
GPS — altitude and speed (Speedometer / Altimeter screens)

Sensor data is processed locally in real time and is not stored or transmitted.

Saved Places Places you save are stored in a local database on your device only. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the app's Share function.

Offline Map Data When you download a map region, street and building geometry is fetched from the OpenStreetMap Overpass API (a free, public service) and stored locally on your device. No personal information is included in these requests — only a geographic bounding box.

Advertising ID (AD_ID) The app uses AppLovin MAX for advertising. AppLovin may collect your Android Advertising ID and device information to serve relevant ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. If you are in the EEA, UK, or another applicable region, you will see a consent form before any interest-based advertising data is used. You can withdraw or update your consent at any time via Settings → Manage ad consent.

Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Play Services (location, geocoding, GDPR consent) — privacy policy
AppLovin MAX (advertising) — privacy policy
OpenStreetMap / Overpass API (offline & mini map data) — privacy policy

The app does not use AdMob, Unity Ads, Meta Audience Network, or any other ad network.

What We Do NOT Collect

We do not operate any servers or collect any data ourselves
We do not require account registration
We do not collect your name, email, or contact information
All user data (saved places, offline maps) stays on your device

Cookies

The app itself does not use cookies. AppLovin's SDK may use similar device identifiers as described in its own privacy policy.

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom:

You will be shown a consent form before interest-based ads are served
You can manage or withdraw consent at any time via Settings → Manage ad consent

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
